What’s unique and all-new in PCDJ DEX 2.6.3 is auto-detection of the DJ controller on startup. New DJ Controllers are released almost weekly it seems lately, and one lucky PCDJ employee’s full time job here at PCDJ to midi map, and test each controller thoroughly before we include support in a public release of PCDJ DEX 2. Numark, Denon DJ, Pioneer, American Audio, Hercules, Vestax, Stanton, Zomo, Reloop, Novation, Behringer and more. We’ve just released our new PCDJ DEX 2.6.3 and have upped our supported DJ controllers count to 55 DJ controllers from the top manufacturers in the business. PCDJ DEX 2 now supports 55 DJ controllers from various DJ hardware manufacturers. Numark MixTrack Pro, DJ2Go, Total Control. Here is a current list of what DJ controllers we natively support in PCDJ DEX 2 and RED Mobile 2 (meaning we built-in support and you do not have to user our MIDI LEARN feature to map the controller yourself) Many more to come, and this months update for our line will include 4 new much requested DJ controllers: It’s amazing to think it all started with that little 2U 19″ rackmountable controller – the Numark DMC-1. It’s tedious, but well worth the effort for our users. ![]() We have to have the manufacturer ship us the controller and then spend many hours mapping and testing each function to ensure stable and quality use. It seems like new DJ controllers are being created at an amazing pace, with new units shipping every month – I’ll admit it’s tough for us as a software developer to keep up! Pioneer DJ, Numark, Gemini, Denon, Hercules, Stanton, and many others all have multiple and technologically advanced DJ controllers that work with various DJ software applications – including PCDJ. ![]() Namely, Windows XP was released and computers were becoming a more trusted technology – especially among the younger and trend setting DJ’s.įast forward to today: DJ Midi Controllers are now the bulk of what all the major DJ hardware manufacturers produce. Subsequently, the Numark DMC-1 controller sales were slow for almost a year, even in mega-chain stores like Guitar Center – then something changed. “Computers Crash!” “No way I would ever rely on Windows for live performances!” etc etc… In those early days of DJing with a computer new technology like this was met with ample trepidation from professional DJ’s. I still remember the first prototype, with clunky hard plastic buttons and a chrome faceplate that drove you absolutely bonkers trying to keep free of finger smudges (which wasn’t changed, but still remains iconic in it’s own smugetastic way). This simple, yet very efficient and effective DJ controller at the time, was created by one of our PCDJ team members who oversaw production in China. The first DJ controller on the market ever, meaning sold commercially in stores as a true professional DJ software controller, was the Numark DMC-1. While progressive Black theologians and conservative Black theologians are the most prominent voices academically, Esau is interested in the typically less vocal center population of Black theologians. In part two (13:00-26:30), Esau discusses three prevalent theological traditions within African American Christianity and the way our communities influence our hermeneutics. It instead seeks to engage those questions with a “hermeneutic of trust” in the consistent character of God throughout the unified story of the Bible. In fact, he realized that if the Bible is unreadable apart from a German reconstruction, then it truly becomes the literature of a white man’s religion.Įsau’s book doesn’t dodge difficult passages of Scripture. In his seminary studies, most of Esau’s professors were white progressives who claimed that in order to fully liberate Black Americans, the Bible needed to be “deconstructed.” Esau recalls his confusion upon hearing this perspective, as the Bible had been his greatest resource for hope and freedom growing up in an African American community in the Southern United States. In part one (0:00-13:00), Tim and Jon interview Esau McCaulley about his latest book, Reading While Black: African American Biblical Interpretation as an Exercise in Hope. In fact, this is a responsibility for followers of Jesus. Government is a created good and ought not be abolished, but if there is a system that lends itself unduly to fear, it is within biblical precedent to criticize that system. The communities in which we read the Bible influence the way we interpret Scripture and what portions of Scripture we invest in most heavily. If the Bible is unreadable apart from a German deconstruction and reconstruction, then it truly becomes the literature of a white man’s religion. And so, the African American who comes out of the Black church, who maintains the sense that the Bible is God’s word to us for our good, who’s also concerned for justice, finds himself or herself often out of vogue in a variety of communities. And in general, evangelical churches tend to be theologically traditional but very hesitant in issues of justice. In general, the progressive tradition in white church bases is known for strong advocacy for justice but is often revisionist on key elements of Christian teaching. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() New versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape, (branded as Netscape Communicator), were released at a rapid pace over the following few years.ĭevelopment was rapid and new features were routinely added, including Netscape's JavaScript (subsequently replicated by Microsoft as JScript) and proprietary HTML tags such as (Navigator) and (Internet Explorer). ![]() ![]() EP is fairly difficult to define usually it should only be assumed that a release is an EP if the artist defines it as such. Generally an EP will be shorter than a full length release (an LP or "Long Play") and the tracks are usually exclusive to the EP, in other words the tracks don't come from a previously issued release. EPĪn EP is a so-called "Extended Play" release and often contains the letters EP in the title. The term "B-Side" comes from the era when singles were released on 7 inch (or sometimes 12 inch) vinyl with a song on each side, and so side A is the track that the single is named for, and the other side - side B - would contain a bonus song, or sometimes even the same song. There are other variations of the single called a "split single" where songs by two different artists are released on the one disc, typically vinyl. Sometimes a maxi-single will have more tracks than an EP but as it's all alternate versions of the same 2-3 songs it is still classified as a single. Japanese singles often come with karaoke ("instrumental") versions of the songs and also have maxi-singles like the UK with remixed versions of the songs. Around 1995 the 8cm single was phased out, and the standard 12cm CD single is more common now generally re-releases of singles from pre-1995 will be released on the 12cm format, even if they were originally released on the 8cm format. ![]() Up until 1995 it was common that these singles would be released using a mini-cd format, which is basically a much smaller CD typically 8 cm in diameter. The defining factor is typically the length of the single and the price it is sold at. The Japanese market is much more single driven.(In some cases the maxi-single is longer than the release the single comes from!) They also sometimes have a longer version of the single (often combining the tracks from the two disc version) which is very similar to the US style single, and this is referred to as a "maxi-single". market (also Australia and Europe) is similar to the US market, however singles are often released as a two disc set, with each disc sold separately. In the US market, a single typically has one main song and possibly a handful of additional tracks or remixes of the main track the single is usually named after its main song the single is primarily released to get radio play and to promote release sales.SingleĪ single has different definitions depending on the market it is released for. Primary types AlbumĪn album, perhaps better defined as a "Long Play" (LP) release, generally consists of previously unreleased material (unless this type is combined with secondary types which change that, such as "Compilation"). It is divided in two: a release group can have a "main" type and an unspecified number of extra types. The type of a release group describes what kind of release group it is. ![]() |
